We are looking for donations of childrens clothes, tarps, school supplies and blankets for a shipment to Haiti as well as volunteers to help get the pallettes ready for the shipping container. For the third annual Blankets For Moncton Blanket Drive, we are
collecting beds, mattresses, cribs, computers, laptops, computer desks,
televisions, TV stands, kitchen appliances, dressers, shelves, coffee
tables, end tables, kitchen tables, chairs, couches, love seats,
pull-out couches and loveseats, rocking chairs, infant and toddler car
seats, child sized furniture, toy boxes, plastic storage containers,
pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, hangers, cleaning supplies including
brooms and vaccuums, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, towels, face
cloths, dish towels and cloths, winter coats, winter boots, socks,
toques, hats, scarves, gloves, warm clothes, steel toed boots and shoes
(men's and ladies), work gloves, backpacks, duffle bags, suitcases,
curtains, toiletries, (especially hotel sized soap and shampoo bottles,
toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, etc.),
sandwich bags and baggies, diapers, formula, feminine products, bus
tickets, canned milk, food vouchers (sobeys gift cards), coffee coupons
etc. Anything useful is greatly appreciated.
If you cannot drop off your items, please call 961-0963 to arrange for your items to be picked up.
The collected items will be distributed to outreach programs including YMCA Reconnect, At Home/Chez Soi, Nazareth House, Crossroads for Women,Youth Quest, Moncton Youth Residences, MAGMA, Boutique Encore, SIDA/AIDS Moncton, Harvest House, St-Vincent de Paul, Mobile One, Karing Kitchen and Ray of Hope for our local homeless and at risk citizens as well as other local area programs that serve the homeless, people at risk of being homeless, and people living in poverty in our region.

In the Statistics Canada 2001 Census, in Westmorland county, there was 14.7% of our local citizens or a total of 17,925 people living below the poverty line.
On average YMCA ReConnect Staff conduct 250 interventions with clients per month. Youth represent 20% of interventions and Adults represent 80% of interventions. The program also averages 20 new clients a month.
The Mobile One Soup Kitchen serves meals in the evenings and on weekends throughout Moncton.
